In other words, it's the same as for cars. The car in front of you is not obligated to swerve to the shoulder just because you want to go faster. 

Friendly reminder that traffic is only being "obstructed" if there's no passing lane and if passing in the opposite lane is either unsafe or illegal. There's even an exception for No Passing Zones when it comes to passing bikes. Mildly inconveniencing you for 2 seconds is not "obstructing traffic"; most cyclists will bail for their own safety long before they're in danger of "obstructing" anyone. The dude in the court case was maybe a bit crazy and briefly had 10 cars behind him. Briefly.

And I guess I should add that ***obeying the speed limit*** is unlikely to be seen by the court as "obstructing traffic", either. I occasionally get someone raging behind me because I'm going 26 in a 25 and they want to do 35.

I'll be honest - our bad driving absolutely has me concerned for cyclists on the road, but as a pedestrian, the ego of cyclists on the sidewalks and trails makes me absolutely sure I don't want them there, either. "I'm faster than you" does not give you the right of way in either situation.

“Reasonable” is a bullshit word. It’s just opening this up for further litigation and liability. All they had to do is say on roads with a speed limit of “X” cyclist must yield to vehicular traffic.  On roads less than that speed limit, cars must treat cyclists as another vehicle.  Then hand out specific traffic violations for failure to comply.

And I was just passing by, minding my own business and he bit me without any single bark. Fuck them all, I don’t care if they’re dead. It’s very easy to sympathize over someone’s agony, but you only understand the issue if the same thing happens with you. It was me, a 23 years old. BUT, what if it was a school going kid? Problems in our country need to be addressed before the supreme court and we will have to respect the ruling ,even though we can repeal the decision.All jokes aside,dogs and cattle roaming freely in the city &amp; town streets and highways have become a menace in our country.One has to keep an eye out in the streets for stray animals as we drive or walk.I like this ruling of SC ,though late,we will reduce the nuisance in the roads to a certain degree.Next we should take up the matter of rash driving/riding to the courts,which is a big reason for road accident related fatality.
